When it comes to cleansing your crystals, you can make it a very simple exercise or you can create a more complex ritual. It's completely up to you.
One practice I enjoy, is cleansing crystals by moonlight. Moonlight has a very mysterious and magical feel and a full moon in particular, exudes a very special energy and is also thought to supercharge your crystals.
When cleansing by moonlight, you can place your crystals in the moonlight outside or alternatively, inside on a windowsill. I usually put mine inside on a windowsill as certain minerals are known to rust if they become wet.
So if you choose to place your crystals outside, ensure that moisture is okay for the type of crystals you are clearing.
To cleanse your crystals by moonlight, simply
- Place your crystals on a piece of fabric, a scarf or particular fabric item that is special to you - creating an altar.
- Then set them down, preferably in the direct moonlight if you can.
- Close your eyes and connect with your crystals, stating your intention out loud.
- Your intention can be a simple one word "Cleanse" or you can choose something longer, for example "Under this full moon these crystals are now cleansed of all old energies".
- The important thing is to ensure that the intention corresponds to your cleansing intent.
- The following morning, return your cleansed crystals to your main altar, or where you choose to keep them.
